The CAP Grant Program
We support state animal welfare organizations and individuals with special projects, helping them fulfill their missions. Success for others reflects our ability to fulfill our own mission—to network, protect and educate, thereby raising the value of animals in all spheres of concern.
When you donate to us, we apply your gifts to vetted groups, events, and projects that need an extra boost to accomplish their goals in educating about and protecting animal interests in our state.
2022 Accomplishments
2022 CAP Planning Retreat
The Board of Directors worked to solidify our organizational infrastructure, policies, procedures, etc.
The board discussed and determined goals for 2022 that would align with our mission; set timelines, accountability structures, review protocols, and success/neutral/fail criteria.
Launch Events
We organized events with the public via our volunteers & members to tour and learn about other Colorado animal and environmental organizations.
We held our Colorado Animal Protectors World-Wide Launch Gala, wherein we gathered board members, partners, volunteers, and the public to celebrate our first operational year.
Networking
We started a newsletter to inform our members, volunteers, and animal welfare partners of CAP activities.
We developed business cards, flyers, posters, PowerPoint presentations, and other tools to aid in building our exposure and platform.
We developed interactions and partnerships with other organizations via our Facebook page.
Rescues, Sanctuaries, & Shelters
We joined other state groups through their events, helped fund special projects, and attended five rescue/sanctuary galas to lend our support and goodwill.
Board Member Dr. Peter Converse provided free well-check exams to newly adopted rescued pets.
Rotary Groups, etc.
We presented lectures for service organizations to raise awareness of, and educate about, state animal welfare concerns and the CAP Mission.
Humane Education
We provided a wide variety of topics through our website blog, social media, events, and personal appearances, making crucial information available to the public. We networked with Boy Scouts of America, schools, and groups of young potential animal welfare advocates through our Animal Future Movement.
Colorado Nonprofit Association Annual Conference
We attended the conference, networked with other nonprofit organizations, and attended classes and events to further our own education and widen our public profile.
Colorado Voters for Animals
We raised and distributed funds to our sister political nonprofit for supporting animal friendly legislation.
We provided networking assistance to connect constituents to legislators for representation, research, and bill drafting.
The Annual Colorado Voters for Animals & Colorado Animal Protectors Laws for Paws Gala
We co-sponsored this annual event to award outstanding legislative work by state representatives on behalf of animal welfare.
We assisted CVA in educational efforts for upcoming 2023 legislation issues.
Colorado Pet Pantry (CPP)
We collected and donated pet food & supplies following the Boulder county fires.
We continue to collect and support CPP’s efforts to provide for under-served citizens and their pets.
CAP Pet Pantry Holiday Pet Food Drive
We collected 2,421 pounds of pet food from 17 donation bin host locations— that will help to feed more than 200 dogs and cats for a month.
In addition, we collected more than 125 pounds of kitty litter, pet beds/blankets, treats, toys, and other supplies. At the CPP warehouse we filled six big boxes on pallets!
Colorado Council of Churches
We sponsored the 2022 Easter Sunrise Service.
Colorado School of the Arts
We created a poster contest to benefit Be Kind to Animals Week. The Grand Prize winner received a monetary scholarship. The winner and five runners-up students had their artwork displayed at the State Capital building, sponsored by Representative Rob Woodward. All works were also displayed at myriad vendors, shelters, veterinarian clinics, etc.
The Link Coalition
We work with The Link’s educators to provide awareness and prevention of animal abuse.
Luvin Arms Farm Animal Sanctuary
We provided the sanctuary needed funds to assist in the construction of avian habitat to combat and protect rescued flocks from largest outbreak of bird flu in generations, thereby helping to save the lives of dozens of species of birds.
Metro Denver Crime Stoppers (MDCS)
We partnered with MDCS by providing award monies for information leading to the apprehension, arrest, and conviction of animal abusers.
